AIDS foundation honors Shriver, Schnabel, others in NY




The Foundation for AIDS Research is honoring artist Julian Schnabel, Kennedy relative Bobby Shriver and Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld for their work raising money for AIDS research.

The trio received amfAR's Award of Courage at a star-studded, black-tie dinner Thursday featuring a Barry Manilow performance and presentations by fashion icons Kenneth Cole and Marc Jacobs and musician Lou Reed.

Schnabel, an acclaimed artist and filmmaker who was nominated for an Oscar this year for directing 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,' has donated his artwork to raise millions of dollars for AIDS research. Read more
